Mission Statement
The Holocaust Education Committee (HEC*) of the Quad City area exists to promote a higher awareness of the Holocaust as a unique and horrific historical event with universal lessons for today’s and future generations.
Goals
- To educate the Quad City community in greater depth about the Holocaust and the many lessons it can provide.
- To ensure Holocaust education is included in all area schools and is being taught in accordance with state school codes.
- To raise awareness of Holocaust materials and human resources available to educators and community members.
- To serve as a clearinghouse for units of study on the Holocaust.
- To work with community organizations to acquire funding for the support of Holocaust education initiatives.
